A Themed Dinner Party Celebration!
What better way to celebrate Julia Child’s birthday than a themed dinner party featuring the food, wine, and recipes that inspired and shaped her life?
Chef Julia said, “You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.” Her grocery stores were farmers' markets in Paris, neighborhood stores in Cambridge, MA, or later in life, farm stands in Pasadena, California. Today, the Farm to Table movement makes fresh ingredients available to all. Sift through her famous recipes and build a dinner menu from appetizers to dessert.
Set a table the way Julia might…she loved roses. Did you know there is a rose named after her because of its buttery yellow color? Use the traditional blue, white, and yellow colors of the French countryside or the sage green used in her Cambridge kitchen.
A big thank you to one creative client who sent us pics of her Julia Child dinner party - set with our Moustier Blue Delft runner and matching napkins.
A famous quote from Julia was tucked into her guest's aprons - each apron adorned with a strand of pearls (the host's nod to the signature statement pearls Julia always wore on her TV show). Her guests all worked together to create a delectable meal to share.
